I would slightly modify the definition to include multi-celled-size pieces. There are variants [and not just mine ;-) ] that have pieces which cover more than one cell. For example: Giant Chess

My gosh, this is TOO MUCH! :-) I do have a use for this though.

Replace the queen in the back row next to the king with a second king. Object is to eliminate both kings. You capture one and checkmate the second. You may be able to checkmate both kings perhaps also for the win.
Still looks like too much to me. I believe when you get like this, then players should be moving multiple pieces, Feudal style.
